[TV Report] The idol boy band SS501, which is back with its mini-album "Rebirth," showed a makeup-free look for its members on the October 31 edition of the KBS TV show Entertainment Weekly. The group's story of its concert in Taiwan also drew viewers' attention.
On October 17, SS501 became the third Korean group to hold a large-scale concert at the Taipei Super Arena in Taiwan, which was a part of the group's Asia tour. Some 12,000 fans flocked to see the concert.
On Entertainment Weekly, SS501's lodging facility in Taiwan was shown. The group leader, Kim Hyun-joong, and vocalist Kim Kyu-jong appeared on the show without any makeup on their faces. Showing off his new haircut, Kim Hyun-joong said jokingly that he looked like a country boy. Embarrassed by his makeup-free face, he asked one of his teammates to give him a BB cream.
Later, Kim was joined by the other group members--Park Jung-min, Heo Young-saeng and Kim Hyung-joon. They all looked fresh and young without makeup, which contrasted with their gorgeous looks on stage. In conclusion, Kim Hyun-joong said jokingly, "We will soon present ourselves as stylish guys, not as sleazy-looking ones."
Viewers wrote in their messages that they liked the "more natural look" of the SS501 members and would like to see more interviews done in a natural setting.
SS501, which is back after an absence of one year and seven months, is enjoying popularity yet again for its song "Love Like This," which topped various music charts in less than a week after its release.
