The popular idol group SS501, already show us their highest side in their respective field like TV shows, group activities, music, drama, etc. After one year and seven months, they fully comeback together with new mini album “REBIRTH” All the fans are very concerned about SS501’s return so that the album received a warm response. On the 20th, many fans have been waiting to download the songs regardless of the late open time at 12:00. For the day begin for selling songs, fans have responded strongly. In the same day, Ss501 also has been ranking high in the site search.
The album, compared to the SS501’s prrvious works are having many differences. The song “Love like This” filled with Pop and new main melody which replace the strong sense of iconic dance for idol group.
The change of this album mainly because the music production teams are mostly foreigner. The new album is produced by Steven Lee who also participate in Japan group KAT-TUN，v6 and Germany group USS’s music production. The title song is produced by foreign music producers like Steven Lee, Drew Ryan Scott and Sean Alexander. Music is arranged by Ken Lewis, the music producer of Usher，Kanye West，John Legend, etc.
Leader Kim Hyun Joong said “This album music is very different from our previous works. We have put in our best effort to produce this new music.”
Member Park Jung Min expressed “After listening to the music, I just surprise we can also produce this kind of music. This album is very different from our imagination”
Kim Hyung Jun said” This time we are not comeback with full album but mini album, feel very sorry for our fans. However, our album is still come out perfectly so we don’t really make our fans disappointed. Also, we have been preparing for our full album now. We will give all the fans a higher expectation.”
Kim Kyu Jong also said “‘REBIRTH” is a album which all of the members have involved highly in production. In addition, it is a production mostly based on our thinking.”
The mini album included the song “Green Peas” which members of SS501 personally make the lyrics to send back their love to fans. Kim Hyung Jin also produced the lyrics of anther song “Obsess”.
Kim Hyun Joong added, “We took off the idols feeling from the music, and change into the image of a mature man.”
Not only in music but the new image design also attract people’s attention. As the same time as opening the music to public, they also send out the new image of the CD jacket.

Actually, until the album finally came out, there were lots of obstacle during the album production.Members told us the true that the original title song was found to be a stolen song. That’s why all the songs needed to be reproduced. In August, members received the song source of the original title song. During recording, they found out that the melody and music scores was just arranged from other songs.
Park Jung Min said “Because the music score was always changing, we were curious and felt suspected. After we finished the concert in Japan, on the returning plane, we heard a song very similar to ours. then finally found out that the song was already published in US.
At that time, SS501 had already finished the recording of the title song. After finding out the song was stolen, they needed to find some other songs to replace. Even more, member Kim Hyun Joong had paid over 8 million won for that song.
Even though the money was returned at the end, they were almost deceived. Since the debut, SS501 have not been involved in any wrong doing, this time are almost fell into music piracy. Actually, until the album finally came out, there were lots of obstacle during the album production.
